02 · WHY IT MATTERS

When Africa investigates its own, civic space holds.

Spyware technologies are actively used to target journalists, human rights defenders, and civil society organisations, compromising their privacy, safety, and ability to operate. When Africans have the capacity to investigate these threats themselves, civic space strengthens, fundamental rights are protected, and real pressure for accountability follows.

03 · THE CONSORTIUM

Three regions.

One mission.

Amana Africa is delivered through a partnership between three regional organisations working at the intersection of digital security, research, and advocacy.

WEST AFRICA

Lorem Ipsum Doren

Digital security expertise and regional advocacy across West African civil society networks.

EAST AFRICA

Lorem Ipsum Doren

Research-driven investigation and capacity building across East African communities.

SOUTHERN AFRICA

Lorem Ipsum Doren

Technical infrastructure and policy engagement supporting Southern African civil society.

04 · FROM THE FIELD

Voices from the continent.

Amana Africa has reshaped how our newsroom protects sources. The technical capacity we've built together means we can investigate surveillance threats ourselves - without depending on external experts who don't know our context.
